Description
A huge skull awakens and rises from the earth to welcome the twilight sun.
Those sculptures were created by Luis Garcia Vidal, along a period of over thirty years in the mountains of the Spanish city of Estella, near Pamplona. The skulls are called the awaken for they are rising from the earth. Abandoned by the authorities, nature is retrieving its space and many of the sculptures of this "Park of the Awakened" have vanished already. The author died in 2006.
