Product Details

Our luxuriously soft blankets are available in two different sizes and feature incredible artwork on the top surface. The bottom surface is white. Our 100% polyester blankets are available in two different styles: plush fleece and sherpa fleece. Plush fleece blankets are soft and fluffy on both sides, whereas sherpa blankets are smooth like a soft sweater on the artwork side (i.e. shorter threads) which provides for a sharper image. Looking for a recommendation? Go with a 60" x 80" plush fleece blanket. It's soft and luxurious on both sides... the artwork looks incredible... and the size is just right for everyone.

Artist's Description

Medici Crouching Venus, Uffizi Gallery, Florence. 1st Century AD.

Roman marble sculpture of Venus crouching as she takes her bath, turned towards her observer and seeking to cover herself with her hands.

This iconic figure has been copied many times and is identified as the Venus attributed by Pliny the Elder to Daedalsas. There are different variations and copies but the first example ever could have been created around the middle of the 3rd century BC., probably for Nicomedes I, King of Bithynia.

The Venus at the Uffizi has very delicate features. In spite of her surprise at being caught naked, there is an elegance in her gesture of modesty, confirmed by her gaze, directed towards the observer. A single bracelet adorns her left arm delicately.

The sculpture remained at the residence of the Medici family in Rome, from 1670 to 1780, when it was moved to Florence and can now be enjoyed at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

About Weston Westmoreland

Weston Westmoreland

Hi there, Born in '72 and shooting pictures since '83, I particularly enjoy creating wide panoramic compositions, HDRs, HDR Panoramas... But not just... Here you will find landscapes and cityscapes, ancient ruins and modern buildings, moons and seas, planes and boats, guns and flowers, animals and machines, forests and deserts, vanguard and prehistory, digital and film, color and black & white, graves and newborns, temples, trenches, palaces, castles, tanks, churches, bunkers... However, they have some things in common: they are meaningful images, I believe them all to be beautiful, and they are for the most part unique. Come in and judge for yourself. W. W. WE CAN CUSTOMIZE ANY PICTURE TO YOUR PERSONAL LIKING AND MAKE IT...
