Description
Florence - Perseus in the Loggia - side view short
This is a side view of the bronze Perseus in the Loggia dei Lanzi. Perseus with the Head of Medusa is a bronze sculpture made by Benvenuto Cellini in 1545, that was made to be displayed right where it is, next to to the original David from Michelangelo. There are many things that make this one the most important statue in the Loggia, but I will just say it is magnificent, beautiful, impressive and shocking.
