Many figures in the Axial Gallery are maybe not as famous as the ones on the Hall fo the Bulls but they are nevertheless amongst the most fine and exquisite paintings of the paleolithic. It is difficult to find creatures painted in such peculiar style in Altamira, Chauvet or Niaux, to mention some of the most amazing caves so far discovered. The richness of the tones, the gradation of the colors and the naturally white walls combine into an aesthetic masterpiece.

The signs, symbols and dots remind us of the fact that we do not know, and probably never will, why our ancestors came to such troubles in order to leave these wonders hidden deep into the mountains.
