Product Details

Our luxuriously soft blankets are available in two different sizes and feature incredible artwork on the top surface. The bottom surface is white. Our 100% polyester blankets are available in two different styles: plush fleece and sherpa fleece. Plush fleece blankets are soft and fluffy on both sides, whereas sherpa blankets are smooth like a soft sweater on the artwork side (i.e. shorter threads) which provides for a sharper image. Looking for a recommendation? Go with a 60" x 80" plush fleece blanket. It's soft and luxurious on both sides... the artwork looks incredible... and the size is just right for everyone.

Artist's Description

Neanderthal Cave Art, Gibraltar, 39,000 ybp.

This criss-crossing array of grooves scratched on a ledge inside Gorham's cave in Gibraltar some 39,000 years ago is believed to have been made by Neanderthals. This makes it the first engraved cave art attributed to Neanderthals, and probably the most complex. Studies carried out in Gibraltar also suggest that Neanderthals used raptor and corvid feathers, normally black, to decorate their bodies. We believe now Neanderthals decorated their bodies with furs, feathers and pendants. There is no reason to question they were capable of other forms of art.

Neanderthals have traversed a long and tiresome journey along our lines of prejudice, from considering them little more than big monkeys to acknowledging the fact their brain was larger than ours, they lasted on earth far longer than we have and they not only coexisted with us but they also cohabited and interbred,as the genome of all humans outside Africa proves. Our genes ar...

About Weston Westmoreland

Weston Westmoreland

Hi there, Born in '72 and shooting pictures since '83, I particularly enjoy creating wide panoramic compositions, HDRs, HDR Panoramas... But not just... Here you will find landscapes and cityscapes, ancient ruins and modern buildings, moons and seas, planes and boats, guns and flowers, animals and machines, forests and deserts, vanguard and prehistory, digital and film, color and black & white, graves and newborns, temples, trenches, palaces, castles, tanks, churches, bunkers... However, they have some things in common: they are meaningful images, I believe them all to be beautiful, and they are for the most part unique. Come in and judge for yourself. W. W. WE CAN CUSTOMIZE ANY PICTURE TO YOUR PERSONAL LIKING AND MAKE IT...
