Description
The Nymphs of the Seine in the Alexandre III bridge. Paris, France.
View of the sculpture group at the western center of the Alexandre III bridge known as the Nymphs of the Seine. There is a similar group at the other side with the Nymphs of the Neva. Both were sculpted by Georges Recipon.
The Pont Alexandre III connects the Champs-Élysées quarter with those of the Invalides and Eiffel Tower. The bridge is the most ornate bridge in the city. The Beaux-Arts style bridge, with its Art Nouveau lamps, cherubs and nymphs, was built between 1896 and 1900 and was named after Tsar Alexander III.
As for Paris... what can one say about the City of Light that has not already been said...?
