Artist's Description
Rocamadour rooftops from the Overlook Horizontal Panorama.
Breathtaking overhead look of the medieval city of Rocamadour, probably the most similar place to Minas Tirith in the real world.
This medieval town, one of the most beautiful in France, clings to a steep mountainside at the bottom and then rises vertically and outwards to the top, where the castle is. This shot was taken from an overlook that hangs on empty some feet below. You get there through a narrow passage and the outlook itself has a stone railing which is not all that reassuring for tall people. Not a spot for the faint-hearted. The view, however, is unique, aerial, as I said, just breathtaking.
I am not used to such sheer vertical views and I always have the fleeting and childish thought of spitting (which of course I refrain XD). Could I hit someone from this high? Or if I run and jumped, how far out would I reach?
This picture can be displayed hanging from any of its four sides....
About Weston Westmoreland
Hi there, Born in '72 and shooting pictures since '83, I particularly enjoy creating wide panoramic compositions, HDRs, HDR Panoramas... But not just... Here you will find landscapes and cityscapes, ancient ruins and modern buildings, moons and seas, planes and boats, guns and flowers, animals and machines, forests and deserts, vanguard and prehistory, digital and film, color and black & white, graves and newborns, temples, trenches, palaces, castles, tanks, churches, bunkers... However, they have some things in common: they are meaningful images, I believe them all to be beautiful, and they are for the most part unique. Come in and judge for yourself. W. W. WE CAN CUSTOMIZE ANY PICTURE TO YOUR PERSONAL LIKING AND MAKE IT...
