Description
Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi, Barcelona, 1882-present day.
Vertical panoramic view of the Basilica y Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia (Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family), globally known as La Sagrada Familia by Antoni Gaudi, from the west. It shows the Passion Façade, the recently finished Tower of Mary with its star and the almost finished tower of Mark the Evangelist, symbolized by the winged lion.
Words are utterly insufficient to describe this building. The word building itself is demeaning by simplification. This is not just a building. This is one of the future seven wonders of the world. It only lacks age.
It is not only a masterly piece of design, and architecture, full of breakthrough concepts at the time it was designed, moreover it is the creation of a timeless talent, the respect for which is already enormous and can only grow.
There is no way a single visit can do justice to this monument to human creativity. It is just to overwhelming. And it is not even finished.
