Artist's Description
The old Cathar Stronghold.Standing proud above the village of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle and overlooking the wide valley, the castle of Castelnaud was one of the main Cathar strongholds on the Albigensian Crusade. Many beautiful castles remain that never saw war, but the chateau de Castelnaud, an evolution of the first castle built in the 12th century, was repeatedly used to the extent of its possibilities and endured many a siege, invasion and change of hands in the unaccountable wars of the middle ages.Ultimately abandoned before the French revolution, it was restored and now holds a warfare museum. The tower on the right was destroyed by lightning. This is the digital oil painting of one of my original pictures of this castle you can find here:http://westonwestmoreland.com/featured/cathar-stronghold-weston-westmoreland.htmlYou can learn more about what drives me in my blog: http://inspiringthoughtsandimages.com/Weston Westmoreland.
About Weston Westmoreland

Hi there, Born in '72 and shooting pictures since '83, I particularly enjoy creating wide panoramic compositions, HDRs, HDR Panoramas... But not just... Here you will find landscapes and cityscapes, ancient ruins and modern buildings, moons and seas, planes and boats, guns and flowers, animals and machines, forests and deserts, vanguard and prehistory, digital and film, color and black & white, graves and newborns, temples, trenches, palaces, castles, tanks, churches, bunkers... However, they have some things in common: they are meaningful images, I believe them all to be beautiful, and they are for the most part unique. Come in and judge for yourself. W. W. WE CAN CUSTOMIZE ANY PICTURE TO YOUR PERSONAL LIKING AND MAKE IT...
