Description
The Shipwright, Albaola Shipyards and ancient Boatbuilding school, Spain.
Detail of three shipwrights working in the construction of a 18th century corsair ship, following original plans of the time.
The Albaola Shipyard is a growing project that was born when the shipwreck remains of the 16th century Basque Whaler San Juan were found in Labrador, Canada. The excellent state of the remains permitted the scientist to determine the real design of these until now forgotten vessels and Albaola was born to make a real size replica of the Nao San Juan in the same place it was originally built. Under the umbrella of this main project, many others flourished, and this international ancient shipyard building school is one of them.
