Description
Andalusian snails escaping the heat.
First time I saw a bunch of snails like this on top of a dried plant I thought they were all dead, so I cut the stem, took the whole thing home and left it on the window sill by the porch. The following morning the snails were all over the window. They were pretty much alive.
Snails living under the relentless heat of the Andalusian sun escape the ground to catch the breeze and keep their moisture during the unforgiving daylight hours. Any plant, tree, wall or fence post will do, even this one of rusty iron which was crammed with snails even in the sunny side. Incredible resilience.
