Homage to the elders in Piazza Vignaioli in Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre, Italy.
One of the latest urban improvements in Riomaggiore, the Piazza Vignaioli was built above the train station. Kids just leave their bikes there when they are not using them and the view of the harbor and the sea from the balcony is just spectacular. Some young of Cinque Terre took to painting empty walls with images and portraits of the village elders. This is a painting I found in this piazza, describing the work in the vines and showing details of faces and labor-worn hands. A beautiful homage.

I stopped by these five little villages clinging to the steep slopes of the Ligurian coast of Cinque Terre on my way to Florence. I admit I had not heard about them until I defined my route.
Cinque Terre is a place where time takes a rest. No cars, no motorbikes, you move from one village to the other by train and walk around with hurry and...
