The Truth, Jules Lefebvre, 1870.
A woman holds up a solar disk at arm's length in the darkness of a well. The artificial light source illuminates this body that is about to burst the truth out in the open. She then grabs the rope to hoist to the surface.
Jules Lefebvre takes over the iconography proposed by Cesare Ripa. The Allegory of Truth "is painted naked, to show that naivety is natural, and does not need explanation to be heard". This theme which appeared during the Renaissance became a favorite subject during the last third of the 19th century.

Here you will find landscapes and cityscapes, ancient ruins and modern buildings, moons and seas, planes and boats, guns and flowers, animals and machines, forests and deserts, vanguard and prehistory, digital and film, color and black & white, graves and newborns, temples, trenches, palaces, castles, tanks, churches, bunkers... However, they have some things in common: they are meaningful images, I believe them all to be beautiful, and they are for the most part unique. Come in and judge for yourself. W. W. WE CAN CUSTOMIZE ANY PICTURE TO YOUR PERSONAL LIKING AND MAKE IT...
