This is a peculiar sculpture. The torso of a 1st century AD copy of Myron's Discobolus from 460 BC was restored and reused in a Modern restoration by Pierre-Etienne Monnot (1658-1733) tocreate this Wounded Warrior, as a companion to the Dying Gaul.
