Description
The tiny flower of a Roberts geranium. Vertical version.
Considered a bad weed in many places, the beauty of its tiny pink flowers when looked up close is at least surprising.
Geranium robertianum, commonly known as Roberts geranium, herb-Robert, red robin, death come quickly, fox geranium, stinking Bob, squinter-pip, crow's foot, is a common species of cranesbill native to Europe and parts of Asia, North America, and North Africa.
Herb Robert was used in folk medicine to improve functioning of liver and gallbladder, for toothache and nosebleeds and healing wounds. Freshly picked leaves have an odor resembling burning tires when crushed, and if they are rubbed on the body the smell is said to repel mosquitoes.
