Description
The Mila House (casa Mila), better known as La Pedrera (the quarry), is one of the most renowned buildings from the incomparable architect Antoni Gaudi. It was built between 1906 and 1910 and it never ceases to amaze me when I visit Barcelona.
However, I envy the people of the time who could walk to it and just look, or the people who enjoyed living in it. I seldom take more than a quick peep when I pass by during daytime. The building is just too beautiful, too successful and is always surrounded by a swarm of tourists. That's why I like to visit it at night.
This is a view of the east side. It is an HDR composed from five different images so you can see the details of the ceilings and door frames through some of the windows, both lit and in darkness, and take a peep at the amazing hall behind that surreal gate.
A magnificent, beautiful, magic and inspiring work of art. I will return another night.
